I started writing posts on Steemit about fermentation and philosophy. I tried to create a link between philosophy and the lifestyle about questioning life, with that of fermentation and changes in food. This was a shot in the dark: I never ever thought that people would like my content and writing. I just tried something new, and it worked for some reason. With the success on Steemit, and with the luck of cryptocurrencies doing very good, I received some money that I would never have dreamt of having. This new money is changing my life, I can now start to work on my dream: that of opening a bakery. This is only small and baby steps, but I bought my first baking equipment with my Steemit money.

In my life have I never thought that such a day would have happened. I am very fortunate in my life with certain things: I am busy with my master’s degree, I had a great childhood and my family still loves me. But the idea of opening my own bakery have never crossed my mind, but since Steemit, the idea has not left my mind. The first step was to buy the baking equipment. I walked into the shop with a huge smile on my face, because I knew I worked for this money, and the money that went into the register was my first step to success. (The things I bought is cast iron steel pots that I bake the bread in. The next phase is buying the oven that I will bake my bread in. Until this day I baked in my parents oven.)

I have been baking (sourdough) bread since the beginning of 2016. It is not that long, but I have had a lot of practice. The products that I have made is not looking too bad. I have some customers that keep on coming back for more bread. There is really nothing like freshly baked bread. But this is not all: this brings people together. If you sit around the table, sharing a freshly baked bread between friends and family, you will truly share an amazing moment that very few people will share. This is why I bake: to bring people closer together.

What is the plan with my bakery? This is where I want to be different from other people: I want to open the bakery with my philosophical counselling practice. This is a new field (relative to other fields), and there are some positive signs that this field really helps people. I want to help people to think better, to help them make better decisions and to help them structure their thoughts in more productive ways. This is still a very early stage of my thoughts on this, but with my master’s thesis, I will explore some of these topics in more detail.

So this is my story, a hopeful success story, due to Steemit. I could not have done this without the help of all the nice and great people on Steemit. This is thus a thank you post, but also a post to show others that there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep on trying. Success is around the corner. Steemit truly changed my life, helping me to achieve my dream of opening my bakery. I am one step closer to achieving my dream due to Steemit. I really hope that others will find their dreams and get closer to achieving it! Thank you to all of you!
